The ball mounts have been used in my previous studio, and installed in a concrete ceiling. Therefor you can see there are some rests of the ceiling on the backside of the ball mount. However, this will not affect installation in a new ceiling, and can most likely be scraped off if wanted. This product is available for shipping or pick-up in Oslo, you are welcome to inspect the product and choose the one you like best at pick-up.
